Building research capacity to study what makes or breaks the land market in India.

Land constitutes a significant percentage of the asset allocation in the portfolios of Indian households. Yet, there are several challenges that hinder a systematic study of the functioning of the land market in India. We aim to study the functioning of the land market in India, the infrastructure and institutions underlying it and the impact of the functioning of the land market on firms and households.
