This is a talk by Dr Baeza on his lessons from working to strengthen health systems around the world - what are good vs. bad health systems and what moves systems towards good health systems. This will also cover his thoughts on the Indian health sector and the path towards reform.
About the speaker: Cristian C. Baeza, MD/MPH is the Executive Director of the Center for Healthy Development (CHD). Dr. Baeza is the former Director of the Health, Nutrition and Population Practice of the World Bank. He has also held positions as the CEO of the National Health Insurance of Chile (FONASA), Partner at McKinsey & Co., Director of STEP in Latin America for the International Labor Organization, Professor of Global Health at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, coEditor of WHO’s World Health Report 2000 and a Board member of multiple international multilateral DAH channels, private sector NGOs and private healthcare organizations. Dr. Baeza has more than 30 years of expertise and experience in global health, DAH, health systems policy, and health financing advising multilateral institutions, bilateral aid agencies, and foundations globally. He has also advised public and private organizations and leaders in more than 50 countries in Latin America, South and East Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa.
