In the past few decades there has been an increase in the platform worker workforce which is expected to reach 24 million by 2030 as per NITI Aayog. However, workers across different cities in India have been protesting against low wages and negligible social security creating a need to gain a deeper understanding of platform workers' lives and their unique experience of operating on platforms. Drawing from the insights based on a study conducted by Dvara Research on the financial lives of the platform workers in Bengaluru, the presenters: Misha Sharma, Practice Head-Household Finance at Dvara Research and Risha Ramachandran, Research Consultant at Dvara Research will shed light on workers' experience, financial behaviour and time-use patterns within the monopsonist platform economy in India.
